Anneke Evenepoel started in 2011 as a researcher at the Department of Criminology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel , where she worked on a policy supporting study financed by the European Commission (conducted together with five European partner Universities). This research focused on best practices of youth crime prevention.
In January 2013 she started her doctoral research concerning prevention practices with young people. Since 2017 she also works as an educational assistant at the Departement of Criminology, where she’s responsible for the management of the Library and the Website of the Crime and Society Research Group.
